Be my Valentine <3 February 10-14 2014

     Our week started off with  a lot of discussions about the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Our discussions evolved into a wonderful learning experience about the history, sites, and events of both The Summer and the Winter Olympics.

By Tuesday, we were in full swing: reading about Saint Valentine, making  valentines and decorating our Valentine mailbags for the big day.  Then Mother Nature gave us yet another ice storm to deal with! We were at home with our families on Wednesday and Thursday discovering what freezing rain and wind can do to trees, plants, heat pumps, electricity, and  roads.

On Friday, we were back to school. It was a beautiful, warmer day, with lots of sunshine. We were able to finish all of our Valentine preparations and have the much anticipated Valentine exchange and celebration!
