This week our class began getting more self-confident about their gross motor abilities. We officially have runners, and when we have runners we typically have a few extra bruises. I am so grateful for the warmer days this week. The children had such a nice time playing outside. There are so many different sensorial lessons in our outdoor environment.  We have a wind chime that makes a sound as the wind blows, and flower with petals that turn in the wind. The sand table is a sensorial lesson in itself. When it gets warmer I will bring out our water table again.

Sam has figured how to get himself on the bike. Just look at the pride in his expression.

I’d like to start a community snack in my classroom. It seems as the children are more interested in their peers’ lunches then their own. Lately, we have been sharing avocados, blueberries, and other soft cooked vegetables. The transition to solid foods from baby foods doesn’t need to be difficult, so I would like to continue this with your help. I would love if you could occasionally bring in a healthy selection to share. I hope this will be a great way for our parents to share ideas, and get through this transition.

If your child has any allergies, or suspected allergies please be sure to let me know. I will post all of them on our refrigerator in the infant classroom.
