Primary 3 Weekly Update Dec. 2-6 2013
We were rested and refreshed this week after a very nice Thanksgiving Break with our families.
Since Hanukkah was early this year, we began our study on this Jewish holiday, also known as “The Festival of Lights“, on Monday. We learned about the origin and the reason behind this holiday as well as lighting the Menorah, dancing the “Hora”, Making a Star of David and Latkes dipped in applesauce.
In addition to learning about Hanukkah,we had lots of fun learning about “The Nutcracker” ballet. We discussed how the ballet tells a wonderful story through dance, music ( Tchaikovsky),
setting, and pantomime. We ended the week with our kindergartners and some of our second years attending “The Nutcracker Ballet” presented by The Coastal Youth Ballet Theater. It was a wonderful performance that everyone thoroughly enjoyed! After the ballet, since the weather was so beautiful and warm, we had a picnic lunch at The All Children’s Park in Surfside Beach.
